Sparkle and Shine with Maybelline's Glitter Mania Nail Polishes - Today's NOTD

This is probably going to be my shortest post ever. I honestly can't think of writing anything else other than "I love the new Maybelline Glitter Mania nail polishes and I've been wearing them non-stop ever since I got them".

These babies pack a lot of glitter, they apply really well, they last for nearly a week without chipping, the shades are beautiful, the price is even more beautiful and the best part is that while removing them you don't have to utter ten thousand swear words!. Yes ladies, we all know what a pain removing glitter polish is right!

Today, I have the shades All that Glitters, a beautiful dull gold and Dazzling Diva, a radiant silver on my nails. The ring is by Valliyan.

P.S - Samples provided by brand. Honest review as always.

Nails of the Day with Maybelline Color Show and Rimmel

I have a love/hate relationship with nail polish. Sometimes I hate to see anything on my nails so stay far away from polish and sometimes I'll change the color of my nails every day. And right now, I am in the latter phase :D. Yesterday, I picked up three new colors from the Maybelline Color Show range (they are seriously addictive!) and immediately wore one on my return home. I went for sparkly silvery nails and used the shade Silver Linings topped off with Rimmel's Disco Ball.

Chanel Azure Le Vernis Nail Colour - Review, NOTD

Chanel has recently come out with its Summer 2013 collection of nail polishes and Azure is one of them. I got this as a birthday gift from a dear friend and I absolutely love it! Chanel describes the color as a 'metallic blue green' but there is also a hint of gold in it. Together, the blue, green, teal and gold makes the polish look gorgeous on the nails.

Chanel Le Vernis is free of all bad things which means no DBP, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin and Camphor. The packaging is classy and the brush is round, medium in length and covers the nail easily. On the first swipe, it comes across as watery and sheer but the color comes alive in the second coat. I applied three coats to get a rich finish. I've been wearing it for a day now and no chipping yet. Being a Chanel, the price is obviously on the higher shade and I think its for Rs 1450. Dunno if I'm ever going to buy a polish that's so expensive but if you love the shade and in the mood to splurge, you can give Azure a try. Here's how it looks on me. In the sun, it looks more blue though..

On My Nails Today - Lotus Herbals Color Dew Nail Enamels Go Grapes & Lavender Love

Lotus Herbals recently launched some new shades in the Color Dew nail enamel range for summer and I received three of them to try out. I've worn two today - A mint shade with the name Go Grapes (no idea what is the connection between mint and grapes!) and a lavender with the name Lavender Love. These are priced at Rs 110 each.

The Color Dew enamels are free of Toluene and DBP and therefore safe for the nails. These are my first polishes from Lotus Herbals and they are quite nice. I love that they come with long handles. For a klutz like me, who is terrible at applying polish on the right hand, the long handles do give some amount of control. The texture is creamy and the finish quite glossy. It takes two coats to go opaque but I did notice that it does not dry out very fast possibly because of the absence of the chemicals. That's not something I like but can live with. Will now need to see how many days these polishes last without chipping.

Take a look at the two shades and please ignore the terrible state of my unmanicured hands :(

Have you tried any of the Color Dews?

On My Nails Today - New U nail polish in Coral

If you have a New U store in your city, you have to check out their polishes. You won't get a whole lot of shades but they are so reasonably priced! I was pretty amazed when I paid Rs 40 for this polish.Honestly, I did not expect it to be of good quality. The color and the price attracted me and those were the only reasons why I picked it up. Somehow we always have that mindset that cheap things are not of good quality but New U sure surprised me. The polish has a creamy texture, applied smoothly and has a wonderful shine to it. I put it on yesterday and I still haven't seen any signs of chipping yet. What's not too great is that even after two coats, the polish did not go completely opaque. It's not really that noticeable from afar but if you see closely, the nail tips are visible from underneath. Maybe I should apply 3 coats the next time.

Totally happy with my Rs 40 tiny, cute polish with a color that just screams Summer. Do check out the polishes when you go to the store next or if you want, order online. Here's the link - http://newu.in/e-shoping/Product_Pages/NewU_Product_Page.aspx?Category_id=24

This is how coral looks on my nails...

NOTD - OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips

This is a very weird name for a nail polish and I have no clue how it is related to the color but what a gorgeous color this is! I got this cute little bottle in my Vellvette box last month and I'm so thankful to the guys for sending me this. Kiss Me On My Tulips was released last year as part of the OPI Holland collection and is a bright pink creme polish. This color just screams summer! The formula is great and it took two coats to go opaque. I'm slowly becoming an OPI fan courtesy Vellvette and I want to add some shades to my minuscule collection. Would love if you suggested some bright colors. Meanwhile check out how Kiss Me On My Tulips looks..

That's my dog in the background. Thought the pink would look striking against the black :P

And here is a side profile of my sweetheart. The dashing 10 year old dachshund Hero!

Do you like bright colors on your nails? What's your favorite shade now?

Maybelline Colorama New Shades and a Mint & Beige NOTD

Maybelline has come out with some really pretty shades in the Colorama range. Think there are about 4-5 new ones but I picked only two. Absinto - a lovely milky mint and Bale Classico - a pretty nude. Both of them are soo pretty!! They take about three coats to go completely opaque but dry very fast. The finish is creamy and semi-glossy and I get about 3 days without major chipping. Great value for money at Rs 100!

Get these shades girls if you want to add a mint and a nude to your collection.

Nail Candy!! My Avon and Colorbar Nail Polish Haul

Somebody Stop Me!!!! Seriously girls, I really need to show some control. Have been buying makeup like crazy (is it the blogging effect??). Hauled MAC, L'oreal, Faces, Avon and Colorbar. Got six new polishes last week and a couple more today. Just couldn't resist the new Maybelline Colorama polish in a lovely mint.

Avon has come out with some beautiful colors in their Nailwear Pro and Pro+ range that is now available at an offer of Rs 179 for two. I got six of them - Absinthe - a glittery green, Sweet Mint - a lime green, Midnight Plum - an almost blackened plum and Loving Lavender, a pastel lilac. I've always been a fan of Avon's nail polishes and I'm loving the new Pro+ range. The creamy, glossy finish is lovely, dries really fast and the wear time really impressive (about 4 days without major chipping).

Here are the pics..

Color Wheel on my Fingers!

The other two polishes I got are from Colorbar, another brand I like for their range of colors and quality. These are from the Exclusive range and priced at Rs 150. Sunstone - a pretty peachy coral and Exclusive 18 - a muted teal.

Which one did you like the most?

Maybelline Colorama Yellow Nails of The Day

If you are sad and depressed and you go shopping, how many of you pick up the brightest and the cheeriest of colors that you come across in the counters? Well I very much do that and it was during one such retail therapy day that I got Maybelline Colorama's Amarelo Sol (I know it sounds exotic but in Spanish, Amarelo Sol means Yellow Sun! Boring huh?), a bright chirpy yellow nail polish.

I like the Maybelline Colorama range of polishes because they are very reasonably priced (Rs 90) and have a large variety of shades. Not too impressed with Amarelo Sol though. Takes about 3-4 coats to go opaque, tends to streak, is pretty thick and chips very easily. Even though the color is bright and pretty, not getting this one again.

Take a look at how it looks on me...

I'm now on the lookout for a pastel yellow shade. Any recommendation pretties?

Apple Martini Nails of the Day!

Beauty Bloggers have raved so much about Colorbar's Apple Martini ever since the shade came out that I just had to get it for myself. This is my first Colorbar nail polish and I'm really impressed with the quality. The emerald green color is absolutely gorgeous and looks great on the nails. No streaking, glossy sheen and no chipping easily (only a bit of wear and tear at the top after 3-4 days) - everything that we look for in a polish. Am definitely getting a few more shades (the new launches look delicious!). Got this one from Flipkart for Rs 132...See how it looks on me.

Which Colorbar shade is your favorite? Do share and let me know. Wanna buy some more of these.

Love

Jungle Nails of The Day!

I was getting a bit bored of all the pretty pinks and corals on my nails and therefore decided to get something radically different. (I still love you pinks and corals...just taking a break. Will be back soon. Pinky Promise!) And my polish of choice? Avon Nailwear Pro Nail Enamel Urban Jungle!

I love these nail polishes from Avon. They have a wide range of colors, are reasonably priced, the quality is great and there's always some offer going on which makes them available at a lesser price. Avon describes Urban Jungle as a a gorgeous statement-making green nail polish.  I would rephrase that to a 'gorgeous statement -making, stare inducing blackish green nail polish'. If you want to wear something different, something dark and gothic, get this. The color is absolutely gorgeous and the quality is super. Avon says 'Intense Bright with Salon-Quality and high shine formula lasts up to 10 days. Fortified with acrylic. Precision flat brush. Its long-lasting formula ensures fewer touch-ups, and creamy application is a dream to work with'. I agree with the intense bright, high shine and creamy application bit but it does not really last for 10 days. 5 at a max with a little bit of wear and tear at the top, which I think is pretty good for the price.

Urban Jungle is priced at Rs 149 and unfortunately, only available through Avon representatives. Get hold of one and buy this color if you want to try something different. Check out how it looks on me..

Have a great weekend my pretties. I'm going out of town to enjoy the sun, sand and the sea. See you on Monday!

XOXO

Funky Fuchsia Nails of The Day

Hello Hello this is Pout Pretty reporting once again from Fuchsia land! Today she is back sharing with you a recent find - Avon's Nailwear pro nail enamel in Funky Fushia (ahem Avon, you kinda got the spelling wrong here!)

I love Avon nail polishes. They are available in a host of colors, are very reasonably priced and the quality is great too. No chipping for at least 3-4 days. It applies a little streaky in one coat but goes nearly opaque and even in two coats. The Nailwear pro range has a creamy finish which I like. A little bit more glossy and this would have been just perfect!

Funky Fushia is more of a bright pink than it is fuchsia and for anyone who loves bright colors, this is an absolute Must Have. I know availability is a problem unless you know any Avon representative but there are so many around that I'm sure you won't have trouble finding one.

Check out the pics..There's nothing red about this polish if that's what you think looking at the pics. Sunlight is doing weird things to my Funky!

And here is how it looks topped off with some clear glitter polish. I used Maybelline Colorama's Glitter Prata.
