Reader's Spotlight - Tej Reviews her 6 Favorite Lipsticks

Today's guest post is by Tejinder aka Tej, who definitely does not need much introduction. She is someone who we have come to know and love for her sweet nature and great reviews. Tej is originally from Punjab, now living in the UK for the past 5 yrs with her family. Like all of us, she is a makeup addict as well and she loves doing eye makeup, trying different hair styles, various brands of lipstick, and hair accessories. She believes in living life to the fullest and her interests are shopping, dancing, travelling and partying. Tej is planning to start her own blog very soon so do wish her good luck!

In today's post, Tej reviews six of her favorite lipsticks.

1. Hello Kitty Betz BelieveThis lipstick is very soft and has a beautiful smooth texture which helps it to glide on easily over the lips. It wears for hours and gives a matte finish. The color is a mauvish pink and will suit most skin tones. I love the packaging of the lipstick coz its so cute! The color of the cap indicates the color of the lipstick. Available at Superdrug store n costs £4.99.

2. MUA Lipstick Shade no 13 - I love MUA because all its products are so reasonably priced and they are of such great quality. Shade 13 is a true red which is simply gorgeous. Its easy to apply, goes opaque in one swipe, finish is semi-glossy and has a creamy texture. Its a daring and bold red, which stays on for a long time and smells good as well. The packaging is not really very chic but then I have no complaints since the quality makes up for the plain packaging. And it only costs £1!

3. W7 Copper QueenW7 Lipsticks are very smooth to apply and offers superior sheen. These lipsticks beat some of the more costly brands. Not so great staying power but stays at least 3- 4 hrs. The shade is a pretty copper metallic one and looks glossy on the lips. This is particularly a good color to wear with Indian outfits. You can get this for only £1.80 from Amazon. It is nicely pigmented and will suit all skin tones.

4. Revlon Moon Drops Lipstick I have got the shade Poppysilk Red 714, a pinkish orangey red colour. This color is hard to describe because it’s not orange, or coral or red but a combination of all three. Moon Drops lipsticks have a very strong scent so beware if you have a sensitive nose! I like this lipstick because its so pigmented and provides full coverage with only one swipe. It lasts for a really long time too and leaves a nice pink stain after fading away. It keeps the lips soft and has SPF as well. Available in 29 shades and the price is £2.79 at Amazon.

MUA Lipstick Shade No 8 - This is a pinkish red color with a bit of shimmer. It looks much darker in the tube than when applied on the lips, and looks more of pink than red on the lips. This again is very moisturising, glides on with ease and goes opaque in one swipe. It has a semi-glossy finish. Available at Superdrug stores and the price is only £1. The lipstick lasts for a long time, smells good and the color will suit all skin tones.

6
Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in SiennaI got Sienna 055 which is a reddish brown color. It is a very flattering shade and two swipes give full opaque coverage. It is very creamy in texture and does not dry out the lips and stays for nearly 4-5 hrs. It is very highly pigmented and texture is smooth and gives glossy finish but not very shiny. This is a warm shade and will look good on most skin tones, can be worn at any time, during day or in the evening. Available at Amazon for £1.99.

Hope you liked my review of the above lipsticks. Although my collection has many brands: Maybelline, Colorbar, Max factor, No 7, Chanel, Loreal , Rimmel London, Revlon, Bourjois etc but I use these most often.

Loved your reviews Tej and wish you the best for your blog :)

Reader's Spotlight - Ritu Talks About Her Love Affair with Diamonds

This week's spotlight is on Ritu Rajput, a fellow blogger and someone who has become a good friend over the last couple of months. I remember before I started my own blog, I used to read her's regularly because of the dusky beauty similarity :)..Ritu writes at http://www.theindianbeauty.com/ and it's still one of the blogs I read regularly because of the in depth reviews and good quality content. Not to mention the exciting contests and awesome giveaways:))

We all know that she writes a darn good blog but did you know that Ritu is actually a Doctor by profession? She says that even though she is a doctor,  her heart lies in all things creative. She loves designing clothes for herself and her mom, absolutely loves make-up, fashion, and everything beautiful. Her weaknesses are
1. expensive perfumes, and 2. diamonds.

Today Ritu shares with us what adorns her ears every single day - solitaire earring studs, embedded in gold.

"These were a gift from Dad, and have been made to order by our trusted jeweler. I have been wearing them every single day since the last 2 years now. I do not like changing my earrings frequently, and I just can't wear imitation jewelry (my ears go sore), except for weddings and functions, for 2-3 hours"

Those are beautiful earrings Ritu. I love solitaires as well and the ones that I have are from my parents too :)

Thank you for sharing with me and my readers. May you get many many more diamonds :))

Reader's Spotlight - Prachi Reviews Her Favorite Lipstick!

Today's spotlight is on Prachi, a beautiful newbie blogger who writes about her love of all things related to skincare and makeup at http://luminousha.wordpress.com. Prachi lives in Bangalore and has always been very interested in trying out new beauty products and it is this interest that led to the creation of her blog, Luminousha .She is also a big fan of Ankita Chaturvedi of corallista.com and says that she will always be a big inpiration to her.(I love corallista too Prachi :)

Prachi talks about one of her all time favorite lipsticks, Maybelline Colorsensational Moisture Extreme Lipcolor in Coral Pink.

Packaging - Coral Pink comes in a neon orange colored bullet. The packaging is quite sturdy and travel friendly.

Color and Pigmentation - It is a beautiful coral color with a bit of pink in it. The formula of this lipstick is creamy and it glides on smoothly on the lips. Like all the Moisture Extreme lipsticks, this is very moisturising as well so there is no need for a lip balm before applying. Since I have quite dry lips, I tend to apply lip balms either before or after applying lipstick but with this I did not feel the need to. I'm pretty impressed by the pigmentation. One swipe easily covers pigmented lips and 2-3 swipes build up a beautiful coral pink color on lips. The color will suit fair - medium tones very well.

Staying Power - It lasts for about 2-2.5 hrs with some mild snacking in between. With heavy meals it completely disappears though from the lips. I like that it doesn’t settle into fine lines after fading away from lips. There are other brands which are of the same price range but they tend to settle in fine lines on lips and are not even as creamy as this but Maybelline scores great points here! I have heard that this range of lipsticks are susceptible to fungus but I've had Coral pink for over a year now and thankfully it still is pretty neat! I really wish that it had longer staying power as frequent touch ups are always not possible for everyone!

Pros of the Product
  • Its reasonably priced
  • The formula is quite creamy
  • It is very moisturising. One wouldn’t need any lip balm while using it
  • The packaging is sturdy and travel friendly.
  • Great pigmentation – One swipe easily covers up pigmented lips and 2-3 swipes gives a beautiful color
  •  It doesn’t settle into fine lines.
  • It has got SPF15.

Cons of the Product :
  • Less staying power i.e. about 2-2.5 hours

Final Verdict : Maybelline Colorsensational Moisture Extreme Lipcolor in Coral Pink shade is a beautiful “Coral pink”  color which is reasonably priced and the formula is quite creamy and moisturising. I would highly recommend this to everyone!

Rating : 4.6/5

Here's how it looks on me...

I have Coral Pink too Prachi and absolutely love it! Great choice and great review :)...Wish you the very best with your blog and hope to see more of you here
