Makeup for Girls Who Hate Makeup

Some weeks back, I was having a conversation with some girls in a party and after a while the conversation veered towards clothes and makeup. One of them when she got to know about my blog, said " I really hate applying makeup coz I feel really uncomfortable putting it on my face. The only thing that I use is a kajal and maybe a lip gloss at times. Eyeshadow, foundations, blushes etc are definitely not for me. The dilemma is that in my office, all the other girls are so polished and chic that I look like a klutz in front of them. Can you suggest how I can also look polished and chic with minimal makeup and minimal spending?"

It's not just you my girl, there are many beautiful women out there who are not into makeup at all, preferring the au natural look. However, sometimes there is definitely a need to spruce yourself up a bit and below are the products that will help you do that. These products are very simple to use so you can get ready in a jiffy, do not make you look made up and are budget friendly so you can save money on makeup and buy things you really like.

1. Tinted Moisturiser/BB cream

I have heard many girls say that foundation feels way too heavy on their face and makes them uncomfortable. If you feel the same, try a tinted moisturizer (moisturizer with a slight hint of color for sheer coverage) or a BB cream (Blemish Balm cream that evens complexion like a tinted moisturizer, covers minor imperfections and redness like a concealer, hydrates skin and protects it with SPF like a sunblock). Both of these are really light on the skin and does not give a cakey appearance. If you don't want to apply concealers or foundations, buy a tinted moisturizer or a BB cream. Oriflame Very Me Peach Me Perfect Skin Glow Tinted Moisturiser, Biotique Bio Redwood Naturally Tinted Moisturiser, Lotus Safe Sun 3-in-1 Matte Look Daily Sunblock are some good budget friendly options. In BB cream, try Maybelline Clearglow BB cream.

2. Pressed Powder

If you have oily skin, a pressed/compact powder is a great product to help you touch up your face throughout your day and make you look fresh. Buy one similar to your skin tone else anything that's too light or dark will look very very unnatural and weird. Maybelline Clearglow All in One Fairness Compact Powder, Revlon Touch & Glow Moisturising Powder, Colorbar Radiant White UV Fairness Powder are some good options.

3. Blush

If you are not a fan of blushes, you can skip this product but if want to add a bit of color to your cheeks and make your skin glow, get a matte powder blush in either a coral, rose, pink or earth tone. Just remember never to apply blush on its own coz it becomes very hard to blend and makes your face look unnatural. Put it on after applying the tinted moisturizer/bb cream and compact powder and sweep it upwards from the apples of your cheeks to your temples. Some great affordable ones are Colorbar's blushes in Cosmic Rose and Just Earth, Revlon's Touch & Glow blushes in Sandalwood & Terracotta Pink. If you want to invest in a high-end brand and just want to buy one shade, get MAC's blush in Peaches.

4. Kajal/Eyeliner

A must have product for those who love as well as hate makeup. Nothing like a stroke of liner or kajal to open up the eyes and give it definition. Use a pencil liner or kajal if you are not comfortable with liquid liner. The best one for me is Maybelline's Colossal Kajal. Affordable, Black, Bold and Smudge Free...what's not to love??

5. Lipstick/Lip Gloss

Without a lipstick or a gloss, the face just looks incomplete. If you are not a fan of bright lip colors and want to avoid high-shine on your lips go for a matte lipstick in a nude, pink, or a coral color. Colorbar Velvet Matte lipsticks are amazing at their price. Some great shades for Indian skin tones are Bare and Peach Crush. In Lakme's Absolute Matte Lipstick, you can try the shade Peach Carnation. Chambor also has some very good shades in their Powder Matte range. Orange Falmbe, Coral Reef and Dessert Rose are my favorites.

If you are not a fan of lipsticks and prefer the shine of a gloss, you can try Maybelline's Color Sensational Lip Gloss in the shades Touch of Toffee and Sugared Honey. Revlon's Colorburst Lip Glosses are also fab. I love the shades Papaya, Buff and Strawberry.

These were some of my recommendations. Any other suggestions you have for the girl who hates makeup?

I loved ure title,,, Makeup for girls who hate makeup. Its more about the feeling of having chemicals on ure skin and the pain of taking it off that scares sme from prepping the face.

Great post BTW. I have been planning for a BB cream, will soon get it now
