Last month Lakme launched the Eyeconic range of Kajal and Mascara and the pics and the prices made all of us beauty buffs sit up and really take notice. I was on the lookout for an affordable mascara for daily wear so went ahead and bought it.
The packaging is pretty simple with clear instructions provided on how to use and remove the mascara. I found that a bit silly but then to anyone who is starting off with mascara, the instructions are quite helpful. What I found really strange is that on the package it's mentioned that remove with a cotton pad soaked with the Lakme Absolute Bi-Phased makeup Remover!! (hello Lakme, plz let me decide which remover I want to use!)
The mascara looks quite nice. A black body which is slightly curved. Definitely looks much better than some of the more pricier ones. Inside, the wand is slightly curved as well to provide the curling of the lashes. The bristles aren't terribly bushy and the entire brush on a whole is quite skinny which leads me to believe it’ll work excellent for those with shorter, stubbier lashes. It gives lashes a nice longer look but doesn't produce a fuller lash look but no worries about a spidery one either.
The consistency is in the middle of being creamy and runny. What's good is that the mascara does not weigh down the lashes so you hardly feel as if you have applied anything. Lakme does not claim this to be waterproof but the mascara easily stays on for at least 8-9 hrs. It's very easy to remove as well so no tugging and pulling of lashes. I use my trusted Biotique remover on this but it will easily come off with any remover.
My Verdict:
The pros of the mascara are quite a few - it does not feel heavy, easy to remove, stays for a long time, is budget friendly and great for daily wear. I'm not repurchasing this simply because I didn't see much of an effect on my lashes. There is curling but me likes a lot of drama on my lashes, even if it is for daily wear. This mascara just doesn't give me the full coverage and super volume that I like. Think Ill stick to my Colossal mascara for now:)
Have you tried anything from the Eyeconic Range?
