Ponds White Beauty All in One BB+ Fairness Cream - Review, Swatch

The latest launch in the ever increasing line up of BB creams in the Indian market is the Ponds
White Beauty All in One BB+ Fairness Cream. There has been a debate over whether the Indian BB creams are the real thing compared to the Asian ones. Unfortunately, my experience with BB creams has only been with the Indian brands. I would definitely like to try out the 'original' BB creams, but those people don't make them for darker skin tones! I've tried practically all the Indian BB creams so far and I must say that I like the Ponds one quite a lot. And the major reason for that is because it helps keep my skin matte during summer.

What Ponds says about the White Beauty BB+ Cream :

The first of its kind innovative beauty solutions from the Pond’s white beauty portfolio combines the dual benefit of instant coverage of spots as well as lightening skin within to help reveal perfect natural look. Pond’s white beauty™ BB+ fairness cream with SPF 30 PA++ and GenWhite TM cover formula provides natural coverage suited for Indian skin that conceals spot instantly while working from deep within epidermis to lighten stubborn spots for all day instant spot-less radiant skin.

With the Pond’s Institute’s dual-acting sophisticated skin lightening GenWhite™ Cover Formula and SPF 30 PA++ advanced sunscreen protection, Pond’s white beauty™ BB+ fairness cream not only improves skin texture and effectively lightens skin from within but also provides Natural looking instant glow for Indian skin.

Clinically proven to lighten skin tone and reduce dark spots, GenWhite™ Formula is enriched with a powerful mix of Vitamin B3, Vitamin E, Allantoin and advanced superior sunscreen protection.

My Thoughts:

Ponds has said a lot of good things about the product regarding its capacity to lighten skin and dark spots and improve skin texture. I honestly care zilch about the fairness claim because I'm very happy with my skin tone and don't have a fairness obsession. I was expecting from the cream decent coverage, light and a non-oily texture, SPF and a matte finish. I'm happy to have got all of this in the cream. One and a half weeks is not enough time to determine whether my spots have lightened or not but honestly, I've not seen anything yet. Regarding providing fairness, when I apply the cream and it needs only a small amount, I do see my skin looking brighter and healthier. The effect does not last for a long time though. Say for about 3-4 hours.  Haven't seen any fairness.

Blended

Here are the things I like about the Ponds BB cream:

1. Cute packaging
2. Skin looks bright and radiant after applying
3. Light texture and blends well
4. Decent coverage. Does not hide everything but gives a natural look
5. Gives me a matte finish on my normal skin. Don't need to apply powder on top of this but if you have very oily skin, you will need to powder
6. SPF 30
7. Did not break out my skin
8. Inexpensive

What I don't like:

1. Would have preferred more coverage
2. Would have liked the brightness and radiance on the face to have lasted longer
3. The current size of the tubes is too tiny. Would have liked more product
4. More shades are needed. The one that they have right now suits my skin but might not for very fair or very dark skin tones

I think this is good value for money if you are looking for an everyday use product with decent coverage and  natural finish at a reasonable price. Don't expect too much out of the product with regards to its lightening and improving the skin claims but overall it's a product that's handy. Will buy one after the sample gets over.

The Ponds BB cream is priced at INR69 for 9gm and INR125 for 18gm.

P.S - PR Sample. Review 100% mine
