A match for Ileana's Lip Color - Shiseido Lacquer Rouge VI324 Indiscreet

The above picture of Ileana D'Cruz at the recently held India Couture Week 2014 led to many discussions on Facebook regarding her lip color. Ileana's makeup was done by the MAC guru Mickey Contractor and obviously he used MAC products. Makeup artists rarely use a single lipstick and this was definitely a result of a combination of two or more lipsticks/lip liners/pigments etc. My guess is a mixture of Candy Yum Yum + Up The Amp + Heroine lip pencil but if you don't want the hassle of mixing shades and want a single lip color that matches that of Ileana's, your best bet is the Shiseido Lacquer Rouge VI324 - Indiscreet. This shade was part of Shiseido's Spring 2014 collection and is the perfect Radiant Orchid!

Omved Protective Face Moisturiser - Review

Today's post is about a skincare product I've been loving recently and it is the Omved Protective Face Moisturiser. Omved is not a brand I've explored a lot. Till date, I've tried the Moisturising Face Cleanser and now this moisturizer but I will definitely check out their range because they make some really nice products that are not tested on animals and free of parabens, sulfates, silicones, synthetic colors and all the bad stuff.

Omved Protective Face Moisturiser is an "emollient that keeps your face supple and moisturised. Use regularly to protect sun-damaged skin and reduce age spots and scars". The ingredients are DM water, avocado oil, almond oil, glycerin, jojoba oil, salicyclic acid, ashwagandha oil, oils of lavender, yland ylang, jasmine, sodium benzoate, glyceryl stearate and cetyl alcohol. The price is Rs 790 for 100 ml.

It was no surprise that when I laid my eyes on the new YSL Baby Doll Kiss and Blush range at Sephora, I came back with the prettiest color - Fuchsia Desinvolte (01).

Nyassa Divine Lotus Light Body Lotion - Review

My first reaction on seeing the Nyassa Divine Lotus Light Body Lotion was " Oh such pretty pink packaging. I love it already!". And after trying it out, can say that I surely do. I've heard a lot about Nyassa products, some good and some not so good things but this is the first time I have used anything from the bath and body products brand. And I have only good things to say about this lovely body lotion priced at Rs 425 for 145 ml.

The Body Shop Moringa Body Sorbet - Review

What do we beauty and makeup addicts complain about the most? And justifiably so? Firstly, that a number of brands are not available in India and secondly, even those that are choose not to bring their entire range here. The Body Shop Body Sorbets are a classic example of that! I saw these at the Paris Duty Free counter and my first reaction was why is a really light mousse like textured fragrant body lotion that is apt for our hot humid climate not yet in India??? Obviously I did not get the answer to my question so instead of lamenting further, I picked up one from the range, the Moringa Body Sorbet. Read on to know why I am loving this...

L'Oreal Professionel Liss Unlimited Smoothing Shampoo and Masque - Review

I am back with another review of hair care products and this time it is the newly launched L'Oreal Professionel Liss Unlimited Shampoo and Smoothing Masque with Keratinoil complex. My hair has always loved L'Oreal Professionel products and the Mythic Oil range till date remains my absolute favorite. But it has met a very worthy competitor in the Liss Unlimited range.

Liss Unlimited has replaced the erstwhile Liss Ultime range and includes a shampoo, masque and serum. The range is specifically targeted towards smoothing rebellious hair and treating frizz. The range includes a shampoo, masque and serum and the active ingredients are Pro-Keratin, Kukui and Evening Primrose oils. I have tried the shampoo and masque and this post is all about them.

Lakme Absolute Gloss Stylist Burgandy Burn - Review, Swatch

Can you believe that I've had this gloss for nearly six months now and it is only a few days back that I 're-discovered' it! Yup and the reason is my new found love for lip gloss which surprisingly is still going strong after three months. Now the name of this gloss is ridiculous and I honestly don't know what Lakme was thinking when they named it Burgandy Burn! I thought I had bought a piece which had a typo but I checked online and yes that is the name so I can't alter the spelling. Also, the color is far removed from burgundy. Thankfully, the name is the only weird thing about this gloss.

Lakme Claims: Now get super luscious lips with this revolutionary gloss that gives you high shine, high coverage for a lacquered finish. Recommended by Lakme make up artists for super glossy lips.

Features :
Professional finish gloss
High Shine, High coverage
Lacquered finish

Godrej Expert Rich Crème Hair Color Burgundy - Review

Many of you have given me a lot of compliments on my hair but do you guys know that I have a grey hair problem? Unfortunately, night shifts, stress, irregular sleeping habits etc have all worked in tandem over the last few years to give me this unwelcome gift :(. Not as if my hair is completely grey but there are quite a number of them and I have to color my hair to keep them covered. I usually don't go for highlights/lowlights or globally coloring my hair. Instead I prefer to touch up the roots once in 6 months and I prefer doing it myself. I see no point paying a lot of money to do something at a salon that one can do easily at home. I've been a L'Oreal hair color fan but this time tried out the all new Godrej Expert Rich Crème Hair Color which the brand claims to be the Best Ever hair Colour!

Is the claim true? Read on to find out what I think of it..

L'Oreal Paris UV Perfect Aqua Essence with SPF 30 - Review

I've done a couple of sunscreen reviews in the recent past and if you have read them you will know what's my no 1 reason for giving full marks to one. Protecting my skin and preventing tanning is definitely important but if a sunscreen is sweat proof and matte, it has already won half the battle.

L'Oreal Paris recently launched the UV Perfect Aqua Essence with SPF 30. Read on to know if it gets full marks from me for its performance.

Dabur Vatika Enriched Olive Hair Oil - Review

Dabur has recently launched the Dabur Vatika Olive Hair Oil and I've been testing this product for sometime now. Must admit that I've never been too fond of oiling my hair and the only reason is that washing it off is nothing less than a nightmare. Be it the lightest or the heaviest hair oil, I'll have to shampoo my hair at least five to six times to get it all off and I just cant gather the energy or the enthusiasm to go through that process regularly. But then maintaining the quality of my hair has kinda forced me to religiously oil it atleast once a week and it's the new Dabur Vatika Olive Hair Oil that I've been trying out.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock with SPF 50 - Review

So last to last week I travelled to Pattaya and Bangkok with my friends and what fun times we had! Pattaya is a crazy crazy place specially Walking Street. No wonder all guys seem to love that place! In Coral Island we did not really see any coral but spent a nice time relaxing on the beach. One day was spent petting tigers and watching them play up close and personal at the Tiger Temple in Kanchanaburi and Bangkok was obviously a shopping heaven. We just went crazy at MBK Mall and Chatuchak Market buying clothes, bags, accessories etc. This time I did not buy any makeup except for three neon nail polishes. Ya even I'm shocked at my will power!

Anyway this is not really a travel post so I will talk about my vacation in detail another day. Today I'm talking about a product which really saved me from the intense heat and humidity in Thailand. Not that I come from the mountains but the heat there was quite unbearable. Some days it was very dry and hot and on some days extremely humid. I knew that I would be out whole day so I needed extra sun protection and that's why took the new Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock with SPF 50 ( Rs 499 for 88 ml) along.

Lancome Lip Lover Orange Manege (#336) - Review, Swatches

Lancome Lip Lover Orange Manege (#336)

There was a time when I used to detest anything that was sheer and resembled lip gloss. God knows what's happened to me but for the past one month or so sheer colors and lip gloss are the only things I'm attracted to. And Lancome launched the new Lip Lover range bang in the middle of this phase so I  had to get at least one of these. Kolkata does not have a Lancome store so the only way I get my Lancome fix is through the ever dependable strawberrynet.com. When I bought it, strawberrynet was offering a 10% off on all makeup so I got this at 20% off (including my loyalty bonus). Dunno how much the Lip Lovers are priced in the stores but at strawberrynet, you can get for Rs 1755.

So what is this Lip Lover? Lancome describes it as :
  • A moisture-rich lip color
  • Boasts a three-in-one elixir formula
  • The balmy base provides up to eight hours of moisture
  • Provides captivating color intensity & dewy glow
  • Creates a smoothing layer to reduce the appearance of fine lines
  • Available in a wide range of colors

Argan Dew Replenishing Hair Mask and Miraculous Argan Oil

One beauty product that has garnered a lot of attention in the past 3-4 years is Argan oil. It's established that Argan oil does loads of good to the skin and hair and now there is no dearth of brands that make products with this miracle oil. One such brand that I came across recently is Argan Dew. They had tweeted that they would be interested to collaborate with bloggers for review of their hair care products and I immediately responded. About 10 days later, I received a parcel from Israel which included 10 samples each of the Argan Dew Replenishing Hair Mask and Miraculous Argan Oil daily hair treatment.

Lakme 9 to 5 Mattifying and Hydrating Super Suncreens - Review

Lakme 9 to 5 Mattifying and Hydrating Super Suncreens

I definitely know how important sunscreen is for the health of my skin but it is one product that I invariably miss out on before stepping out. And the reason is that I dread the application! Practically all sunscreens that I have tried till date have made my face greasy, sweaty and irritated including sprays, matte finishes, everything. I have tried Lakme's Sun Expert range as well and the result was pretty much the same so I honestly did not get too excited when I first heard about the new Lakme 9 to 5 Hydrating and Mattifying Super Sunscreens with SPF 50. I would have probably given them a miss unless Lakme sent them over for review and now after trying them out for about a week, I'm in love. Read on to know why...
