My Shoplately.com Wishlist

While browsing the net some days back, I came across this amazing website Shoplately, described as a fashion marketplace on the web. Shoplately sells trendy products from unique designers and provides merchants small and large a place to sell their goods and a place for shoppers to explore everything from clothing, to shoes, to accessories. Their mantra is to Shop now, shop often!

While browsing through the website, I was really impressed by the stuff that they have. From bags to shoes to clothes to hats and jewelry, Shoplately has them all. Each day, they organise sale events packed with limited-time offers and discounts as well as regular-priced items. And the unique thing is that you can not only buy from here but sell as well. You can create and manage your own store page where you can sell both full price and discounted items. You can run limited time sale events and track your orders, returns, inventory and shipping easily with the user-friendly Marketplace.

To give you a preview of what Shoplately offers, I've put together a wishlist of 5 items that I really liked. There are obviously much more that I did, but these would have to be my top 5. So here goes..

1. COB & PEN Genie's Tote Bag - There are 6 colors available in this design but I was instantly drawn to the royal blue one. So rich and love the gold and blue combo.

2. Heart Soul Tito Sandal, Blue - This instantly reminded me of spring/summer. So pretty!

3. Cute Embroidered Dress - Precisely why I like it :)..so cute and so summery!

4. Rose Gold Sequin Top - I love anything that is rose gold and this top even has sequins in it. Love!

5. Starbucks Coffee Necklace - This has got to be the cutest necklace I've ever seen. Look at that detailing!

So these are some of the things that I really liked. Go ahead, explore Shoplately and I'm sure you will find loads of stuff that you would want to buy for yourselves.

Do let me know what all you fancied.

Fashionably Colorful with The Body Shop at Kingfisher Ultra Bengal Fashion Week

Last week I received an invite from The Body Shop India to attend Jattinn Kochhar's Show at the Kingfisher Ultra Bengal Fashion Week, a three day long fashion extravaganza held at The Park, Kolkata. Body Shop was the official makeup partner of the Fashion Week and they tied up with Jattinn for an exclusive show showcasing the pop range of 'Colour Crush' eyeshadows and lipsticks.

The event was held on Sat, 22 Feb and when I reached the venue saw that Shikha and Nivedita, fellow Kolkata bloggers and friends were already seated and had kept my place. We got introduced to Aanchal from The Body Shop, a vivacious and very sweet girl who said that we could go backstage after some time and watch the makeup being put on and capture all the action. After a while Shayoni, Sharmishta, Portia, Debi and Bidisha came in and then started the shows for the day. It was opened by Monapali the famous Kolkata designer duo's collection and their theme was Politics and the Aam Aadmi. The collection was comprised mainly of saris and they all had a very earthy feel to it. I was just telling Shikha that will they be bringing out a 'jharu' inspired collection when in walks a model wearing a sari with a 'jharu' drawn all over it! Wonder who will ever wear that!!

Monapali's collection

After Mona Pali, it was AD Singh's turn and what beautiful clothes he showcased. They were embellished with crystals and were pretty blingey but they looked stunning on the ramp. His showstopper was Reshmi Ghosh, a very popular ex model and Tollywood star who wore a peachey pink lehenga with crystals and stones all over. The makeup of AD Singh's show was nothing special. It was smokey eyes all the way through and in fact smokey eyes was probably the theme of the day. All the shows that we watched, smokey eyes ruled!

After AD Singh's show, we went backstage to catch the action and oh boy was it chaotic! Models shouting, people pushing, makeup artists rushing around, hairspray flying all over, organizers in a frenzy trying to hurry up everyone and in the midst of all, a group of very enthusiastic beauty bloggers trying to get some good shots! We saw The Body Shop makeup artists in action and Shikhee Agrawal, makeup expert of TBS busy trying to get all the looks together.

Jattinn checking on his models

Multi-tasking!

For Jattinn's show, since the clothes were mostly in shades of black, white and grey, the focus was very much on the eyes and lips. The team mainly used the new Colour Crush eye shadows in the shades Berry Cheeky, a bright pink and Something Blue, a bright turquoise. For the lips, it was Red Siren Colour Crush lipstick, a gorgeous gorgeous red. The models were also wearing the TBS pout on themselves while walking the ramp which was pretty cute. The clothes themselves were strictly OK. Nothing extraordinary or creative but on the ramp with the bright makeup on, the models looked very good. Jattinn's showstopper was Meera Chopra, Tollywood actress soon to appear in the film Gang of Ghosts (had to Google her name to find out who she was) wearing a black embellished rather skimpy blouse and a plain black sari. Again, nothing great but she sure looked pretty.

After Jattinn's show it was the turn of Bollywood's favorite, Rocky S. I loved the makeup and hair for his show. Dark black smokey eyes, nude lips, voluminous hair with curls. So glam! Rocky was presenting his resort wear collection and it comprised swimsuits, jumpsuits, long flowy and kaftan style dresses. His show stopper was Koel Mallik, a famous Bengali movie star and she looked gorgeous!

Loved the makeup on Koel

After the shows were over, we again went backstage to take pics with the wonderful Body Shop team and were given a goody bag each which contained the eye shadows and the lipstick used on the models for Jattinn's show along with the Camomile eye makeup remover. Thank you TBS :D

My makeup for the event
It was my first fashion week experience and I must say its quite crazy behind the scenes! For us viewers though, it's all glam n glitz and I loved being a part of it. A big thanks to the TBS team for inviting me and for being such amazing hosts.

Inside My September Fab Alley Jewel Box

It's been a while since I ordered a Fab Alley jewel box because I was just not getting something that I really liked. However, last month while checking out the boxes online, I fell in love with the Glam box (again!) and went ahead and booked it.

For those who are absolutely clueless about what I'm writing about, click here. You will be directed to the Fab Alley jewel box page where you can take a quick style quiz and based on your answers, a box will be recommended for you. You can be either Boho, Casual, Glam or Classic and each box will have three jewelry pieces to reflect your personality. You can obviously take whatever box catches your fancy but the quiz is good fun (gets boring when you have to do it every month though!). I absolutely love the concept of a jewel box and for Rs 1000, it's not a bad deal. The quality of the products are quite good and they look pretty too. The only thing I find irritating is the fact that it takes a month for the box to arrive. I placed my order for the Sept box sometime early last month and it got delivered only today. Wish they speed up the delivery process quite a bit.

In my September Glam box, I got two neckpieces and a earring. The earring is slightly OTT and one that I definitely can't wear everyday but it does look good. I loved the neckpieces and so did everyone at work today. Wore the smaller one and there were quite a few appreciative glances towards me. I've gone ahead and booked a box for October too. And yes, it's again a Glam!! Bling and OTT is just me!!

Take a look at what I got in the September box.
