Oriflame Studio Artist Cream Blushes Soft Peach and Pink Glow - Review, Swatches

Oriflame Studio Artist cream blushes are the current rage and after trying them out, I know why there are rave reviews everywhere. I've always shied away from cream blushes because they can be really difficult to blend and that's where the Oriflame product scores majorly. These are not really like the traditional cream blushes but a cross between a watery stain and cream blush. That's what makes the blush blend well and give a very pretty and healthy flush to the cheeks.

Oriflame Studio Artist Cream Blushes Soft Peach and Pink Glow

I love the packaging of the product. It's not in a pan but in a tube which makes it easy to carry around. Besides, the transparent packaging allows for the color to show through and it looks so pretty!. Like I said earlier, the texture and consistency of the blush is really good. It feels light and non-greasy and gives a very natural look.

I have the shades Soft Peach, a really light peach which will go very well with fair to medium skin tones and Pink Glow, which is my favorite. On my complexion, Soft Peach hardly shows up but if you are fair then this can be a lovely everyday blush for you. Pink Glow is a more vibrant pink and even though it looks quite bright in the tube, once blended, it's a very pretty pink that will work well on all skin tones. If you want, you can wear it on your lips as well for a light wash of color during the day. I do that pretty regularly and love how it looks.  The best part about the blushes is that the color is buildable so you can wear it sheer or layer it on for more color. The staying power is around four to five hours and it does not get patchy over time. To make the blush last longer, I sometimes use it as a base and pat on some powder blush. You can try that too. I have normal to dry skin so I like the dewy finish it gives. If you have oily or combination skin, these should not be a problem for you because of its slightly watery texture.

I wore Pink Glow on Christmas and unfortunately the camera didn't quite pick up the blush color properly. Can you still make out the light pink cheeks??

The Oriflame Studio Artist cream blushes are available through Oriflame reps for Rs 549 for 20 ml and it is a pretty good buy. Even if you are a non-cream blush lover, these I'm sure will get a lot of love from you. The shades, texture, consistency and pigmentation has won me over. The only con I see is the staying power and I wish these lasted a few hours more. Other than that, no complains at all. I love this formula!

Accessorize Bronzing Block Shade 3 - Review, Swatch

One of my favorite stores to shop accessories from is Accessorize, the very popular UK brand that makes some amazing bags, jewelry and other nick knacks. The stores in India don't stock their makeup range but they do have a wide variety of products from lipsticks, glosses to blushes, powders, mascaras etc in very cute packaging. I was going through the beauty section of jabong one day when I came across makeup products from Accessorize and thankfully there was also a sale going on (which I think is still on). It took me nearly 20 mins to decide what I wanted and I chose a Bronzing Block in shade 3.

I must admit that more than the product itself, the packaging attracted me. Its so pretty and reminds me of Benefit's boxed blushes. Anything pink I'm a sucker for and this even has roses! The box is made of cardboard but is quite stiff and sturdy. Inside there is a tiny brush which is not that great but ok for travelling or quick touch ups. I could not quite figure out the shade from the website but thought it would be from the coral family and I was right. Why this is called a bronzer though I have no idea because it's actually a very pretty coral- pink blush. It has a slight sheen but is not shimmery or glittery at all and is very well pigmented. The texture is very slightly powdery but at the same time soft and silky and applies really well. The finish is a soft, glowy sheen with a touch of coral. I don't have Benefit's famous Coralista powder but the color of Shade 3 looks very very similar. Dupe alert pretties!!

I took nearly 20 pics of myself wearing the blush and I did not like even one of them. The lighting was bad so you will have to make do with a hand swatch. Sorry!

The color is one that will work well on fair-medium skin tones and will look lovely. If you love coral, try this blush. Its good!

The Accessorize Bronzing Block is priced at Rs 750 at jabong but I got it for Rs 650 at the sale. Jabong stocks quite a few Accessorize products. Click here if you want to buy

Sleek Makeup Blush in Flamingo - Review and Swatches

In terms of lip color, I love to experiment. Neon pink, blood red, bright coral, intense orange.. I've tried them all and absolutely love these colors on me. In terms of blushes, I was a big bore till sometime back sticking only to neutrals. No experimentation whatsoever. But then I started reading all the wonderful blogs and the pictures and swatches of the beautiful blushes enticed me no end. I finally picked up the courage to buy MAC's Peaches and Desert Rose (yes, 5 months back they were a big step for me!). I loved these colors and then got bolder and thought of getting something radically different from what I would usually wear.  My blush of choice? Sleek's Flamingo!

This is my first Sleek blush and I'm really impressed by how pigmented and silky smooth these are. Flamingo looks scary in the pan coz its such a bright pink and since its so pigmented, one will need to be careful with the application. A tiny bit goes a long way but once its well blended, gives a beautiful flush to the cheeks. The only con is that it does not last for long. A blush that is so pigmented ought to stay on for at least 4-5 hrs but this does not last for more than 3 hours on me.

In a nutshell, here is my take on Flamingo.

1. Packaging - Very chic and sleek and I love that they have a mirror included. Very very helpful!

 2. Color - Beautiful bright matte pink that will go with all skin tones. Medium to Dark skin tones will absolutely rock this color.

3. Pigmentation - Very pigmented. You only need a tiny amount to create those rosy cheeks. Have to be careful though. A little bit more and you will end up looking like a clown! A stippling brush is ideal for this.

Swatched 3 times on the left. Blended on the right

Swatched on the left and Blended on the right
4. Texture - Quite soft and smooth. There is a bit of fall out during application but I can live with that.

5.  Staying Power - Not too happy with the staying power. Does not last on me for more than 3 hours.

6. Availability - You can order this from the Sleek website for $5.99 and they do have International delivery. The charge is $7.50.

Will I Recommend This?

I really like the quality of this blush and the color. I love that its a true matte and there is not even a speckle of shimmer in it. If you are looking for a bright pink matte blush, then do give Flamingo a try. You will love the healthy flush on your face.
