Born Pretty Store is an amazing online store that sells affordable nail art supplies, fashion accessories, jewelry, clothes, makeup brushes, makeup etc. Last month I received a few makeup items for review and I've already written what I thought of the Dannii makhmali eye shadow palette and the Frozen Eye shadow. The Born Pretty Store Love Alpha Eye Color Frozen (08) - Review, Swatch

The product that I'm writing about today has got to be one of the most unique things in my makeup stash. Its called the Love Alpha Eye Color Frozen and it was sent over to me by the lovely folks at Born Pretty Store for review. Much of what's written on the package is in Chinese so I can't make out the manufacturer or the details of the product but it is basically a shimmer eye shadow with a twist. Why I say twist? Danni 15 Colors Makhmali Eyeshadow Palette from Bornpretty Store - Review, Swatches

Yes it is really called Makhmali eyeshadow palette! And no, it is not made by an Indian brand. In fact this palette is manufactured by a company called Danni and the location is China. 

The palette was sent over to me by the very nice folks at Born Pretty Store for review and after testing it, I can tell you that 'makhmali' is actually an apt name for it. These shadows are very smooth and soft and the pigmentation is extremely good! Honestly, I wasn't really expecting a lot out of this palette but it sure has surprised me. To all those who are not aware, Born Pretty Store is an international online store from where you can buy good quality makeup, makeup brushes, nail polishes, nail art supplies, jewelry, accessories etc at extremely reasonable prices. Shipping is free worldwide and I've never faced any problem with lost packages. Once you check out the website, you will be spoilt for choice as they have a huge stock of products and for any makeup addict, the eyeshadow selection is definitely worth checking out. 

The Danni Makhmali palette consists of 15 colors in a shimmer/metallic finish and they are all quite bright, perfect for trying out some fun eye looks. The packaging is simple yet compact and I like that they have provided a large mirror inside. As is the case with most palettes, the brush is useless. 

In terms of quality, like I said earlier I wasn't expecting either the texture or the pigmentation to be this good. The shadows are very soft and smooth to the extent that they crumbled slightly when I was swatching them with my fingers. When applying with a brush, there is slight fall out and my cheeks become all shimmery so now I remember to put a tissue under my eyes while applying these colors. Pigmentation is really good specially of the darker colors and in the pics below, I've just swiped the colors twice. Because the shadows are so soft and smooth, its pretty easy to blend them and you don't really need to put in a lot of effort in that. Wear time is not that great though and I would recommend using a primer first before applying these shadows. I tested without a primer and after about six hours, did see that the color had faded slightly. Here are the swatches..

The price of the palette is $7.99 which is around Rs 490 and believe me at that price, the palette is awesome! It might be of a brand that is relatively unknown (at least to me) but that does not mean that they do not make good products. Haul Post - My new Eyeshadow Palettes

And thus begins the haul posts...Many of you know that I went to visit my brother's family in Singapore last month and that trip made a major dent to my bank balance! The price of all products in Singapore is very high but I was on a vacation and went all out to get some of the things that I've been wanting for quite some time. In today's post, I'll show you the eye shadow palettes that I got recently that includes two I bought on my trip and one sent to me for review by the Born Pretty store (you can use the code DDH10 to get a 10% discount on your purchase from the site while checking out).

The star of my Singapore haul is definitely Urban Decay's Vice 2 palette. I had actually wanted to get either Naked 1 or 2 but once my eyes laid on Vice 2, it was love at first site. The price at Sephora was 88 SGD which roughly translates to about Rs 4300. Definitely expensive but oh so worth it! I will post the review and swatches soon but here's a first look at the palette.

Second, is the Limited Edition Sephora Enchanting palette which I bought primarily for its outer cover. Some of the colors are quite similar to Vice 2 but have you seen the packaging? That silver shimmer was way too enticing for me not to get. The price was I think around 35SGD (about 1700) and I think it was a good buy at that price. What say?

Lastly, here is the palette sent to me by Born Pretty Store. I have not heard about the brand before but I love the bright shimmery colors. And the pigmentation of these shadows is surprisingly very good. Will review very soon.
