Nivea Lip Butter Caramel Cream - Review

Nivea lip balms have always been a favorite of mine but this one is just awesome! The balm comes in a round tin and looks super cute. Open the lid and you get hit by this delicious sweet smell that to me is more freshly baked butter cookies or pancake batter than caramel but yummy nevertheless. I carry the tin in my bag and reach out for it so many times during the day just for that smell.  

As much as I love tin packaging for lip balms, just hate putting my finger inside to get the product out. So I just apply it straight out of the tin. Hold it to my lips and apply like a lipstick. Weird I know but that's me! Even though it looks very creamy in the tin, on the lips the balm feels light and super moisturising. Thankfully not greasy, gooey or sticky. What I like about the balm is that it keeps the lips hydrated for a long time after application. If you have really dry and chapped lips, you will have to reapply a few more times but it does a pretty good job.  I apply the lip balm before going off to sleep and wake up 8 hrs later to soft and hydrated lips.  

In India, the Caramel Cream balm comes in another variant - Raspberry Rose and these are priced at Rs 189 each. Expensive for a lip balm but then 16.7 gm will last for months unless like me, you use it around four to five times a day. Caramel Cream is definitely gonna be my winter 2013 staple and once you try it out will probably be yours too. If only it tasted like butter cookies too!

Nivea Pure Effect Total Face Cleanup - Review

''Oh shucks I woke up late and now I only have about an hour to take a bath, get ready, do my makeup, eat breakfast and rush out of home to reach office. So what is the Total Face Cleanup? Well, it is a face wash cum scrub cum face pack cum oil remover cum spot remover, all packed into one tube. The Total Face Cleanup Regime consists of 3 simple steps:

1. Application of the product all over the face in circular motion, focusing on the forehead, nose and chin area

2. Leaving it on the face for about 3-4 mins

3. Rinsing it off

If you want, you can also use it separately as a face wash, scrub or a pack. The consistency of the product is pretty unique. Its neither a lotion, nor a gel nor is it a soapy face wash. Its like a mask that has tiny granules in it and that also lathers mildly. Love the fragrance of this one because it feels so clean and fresh, similar to the smell of my favorite Nivea creme soft. I've been using the Total Face Cleanup for quite sometime now and I must say that I quite like it. Not so much as a face wash but more as a mild scrub and face pack. Actually, I like it best as a face pack because it gives me clean and oil-free skin after washing off. 

The Total Face Cleanup is ideally suited for those with normal to oily skin and is great for summer. For those with very dry skin, it might be drying specially if you are using it as a pack. As for the benefits, I must say though that the product works for me as a face wash and scrub(moderately), as a pack and as an oil remover, it does not do anything for eliminating blackheads. I have not seen any pimple on my face after using this so it must be doing something good to fight bacteria. 

Overall, I'm very pleased with this product and would not mind purchasing after this sample gets over. It's a handy thing to have and not just that it saves time, the Pure Effect Total Face Cleanup actually lives up to most of its claims. The price is very reasonable at Rs 199 and definitely worth trying.
