MUA Eye Shadow trio Theatrics - Swatches

MUA has been doing baked eye shadows for quite some time now but recently they launched a merged version of these eye shadows in a cute little palette. According to them this is an improved formula and each trio contains "two tone threads of color creating a beautiful shimmer, sparkly enough to satisfy the glitter craving in you''. Out of the three trios, Theatrics caught my eye. Rather the purple shade in Theatrics caught my eye and I went ahead and placed an order for this. In the UK, these cost £3.00, but I obviously had to pay more.

I haven't used these shadows yet and only swatched them today for you. First impression - they look gorgeous in the palette and remind me very much of the eye shadows from MAC's Heavenly Creatures collection. The palette itself is really cute and I love the tiny press button that's included. There is a sponge applicator inside that is as always useless, unless you are in an eye shadow emergency and need it for a quick fix. In such a tiny palette, even though the raised shape looks good, its a problem to apply because the product goes all over the place. And specially in the case of this one because there is so much of glitter! There is a LOT of glitter fallout and 2 mins after swatching, my little palette resembled a disco ball. I'm worried now that my face doesn't look the same after I've applied the shadows. I wont say that these are the most pigmented shadows I've ever tried. The purple one is good but the other two needs quite a bit of layering to give some color.

Take a look at the swatches..

I'll be able to write a full review when I've actually used them as eye shadows but the glitter fallout thing is really bothering me.

Do you like glitter eye shadows?

MUA Undress Me Too Palette - Review, Swatches

The MUA Undress Me too Palette aka the poor man's Naked 2, was launched sometime back and I got hold of it last week. I don't own either of the Naked palettes and honestly, don't think I would ever. Just can't bring myself to spend nearly 50 dollars on an eye shadow palette! And if the dupes are this great why even bother right?? :)

The Undress Me too Palette is priced at £3 and contains 12 eye shadows of different finishes in a sleek palette that is perfect for travelling. Thankfully, the shades have all been given names this time so it's much easier to refer to. Not all shades are similar in pigmentation though. In general, the ones with the metallic finish are much more pigmented than the normal and matte shadows and they are also much softer in their formula. I also find the bottom row shades to be better in pigmentation as well. As with all palettes, the brush is useless.

Here's a breakdown of each shade and their formula. I have not used a primer in the pics so that you can see the true colors.

Top Row -

From L to R - Naked, Devotion, Shy, Fiery, Lavish, Dreamy

Naked - A matte cream shade that's not very pigmented. In fact, it is quite chalky and powdery

Devotion - A matte gold with a metallic finish and well pigmented

Shy - Shimmery equivalent of Naked

Fiery - A metallic copper and one of my favorite shades. Color pay off of this one is pretty good

Lavish - A matte muddy brown. This one I like the least because of how chalky it is.

Dreamy - Warm golden brown with a metallic finish. Love this one too.

Bottom Row -

From L to R - Tranquil, Exposed,Reveal,Wink,Obsessed,Corrupt

Tranquil - Another shimmery gold. Low in pigmentation but very soft and buttery

Exposed - A light grey shimmery silver with ok pigmentation

Reveal - A cool toned silver

Wink - Another metallic bronze that I love

Obsessed - A deep chocolate brown with slight shimmer. The color is beautiful but slightly drier than the other mattes.

Corrupt - A black deeply pigmented matte

I don't have the Naked 2 palette so can't really give you a comparison of both but from what I've seen of Undress Me Too, it's great value for money. Not all shades are equal in pigmentation and some are slightly ashen and chalky as well but overall, I'm happy. The shadows last for a long time and I've not faced any problem with creasing or fading even after wearing these for six hours. If you don't want to spend money on Naked, get Undress.

MUA Going for Gold Palette - Review, Swatches,EOTD

The MUA Limited Edition Going for Gold eyeshadow palette was launched last year to celebrate the Olympics and consists of 10 gorgeous shimmery shades of Gold, Silver and Bronze. This is one palette that I really wanted to get my hands on coz I love shimmer and I love gold!. I know the Olympics is long over and the palette is also sold out but I did manage to get this for myself at a recent blog sale conducted by Renji of Makeupholic World. Got 4 MUA palettes from her and Going For Gold was one of them.

The shades unfortunately have no name and instead given numbers. So the top row from Left to Right is 1-5 and the Bottom Row from Left to Right is 6-10.

The colors are all well pigmented but I did find that the bottom row is more pigmented as you can see from the pictures. Considering the price of this, the quality is great. They are soft in texture, does not have chunky glitter, there is moderate fallout and lasts for nearly 5-6 hrs on my lids without creasing or fading. What's great about the palette is that some the colors are so versatile that they can also be used as highlighters on the face to give it a glowy shimmery look. Another star product from MUA!

Here are the swatches -

Top Row from Left to Right (1-5)

Bottom Row from Left to Right (6-10)

And here's a look that I did with palette. Used a combination of the gold and bronze colors. Ughh that pimple :((

MUA Blush Shade 3 - Review & Swatch

I'm currently going through an ' I love blush' phase and have been hoarding them like crazy. The latest in my kitty is MUA Blush in Shade 3 that I bought from Sophia's blog sale. This is my first MUA product and I'm super impressed by the quality. How on earth do they sell them so cheap???? The powder blushes cost only £1!! Obviously, for us in India it does not come that cheap taking into account the shipping charges but even then these are such good value for money.

The packaging of the blush is very simple. A black and transparent plastic case with the brand name in a silver font on top. Even though its nothing fancy, it does look quite chic and definitely more expensive than its price. I love blushes with a clear top coz its very easy to determine the shade. The packaging is also quite sturdy and travel friendly.

Shade 3 is a pretty matte peachy pink color with golden microshimmer. The shimmer is not that visible on the skin but you can see it if you look very close. This is a color that will suit all skin tones specially those with fair to medium skin tones and will give off a very nice glow to the skin.

Honestly, I didn't expect the blush to be so well pigmented. A tiny bit is enough to give me peachy pink cheeks. It has great color payoff without being chalky and does not give a patchy finish either. It also wears very well on the skin. On me, it lasts for about 5 hrs without a primer.

I'm really impressed by the quality of this blush and will recommend it to everyone looking for an affordable, everyday blush to wear. The quality is definitely at par with most high-end brands. The only con is that these are not available in India and one has to buy it online from their website. Thankfully, they offer international shipping.
